Axar Patel to lead Delhi Capitals in IPL 2025

Axar Patel has been appointed as the new captain of Delhi Capitals for the upcoming 2025 Indian Premier League season. The decision was made after much speculation following the departure of Rishabh Pant, who was acquired by Lucknow Super Giants during the 2025 auction. The announcement was made on Friday, solidifying Patel's position as the leader of the team.

With DC successfully bidding for KL Rahul in the same auction, speculations were rife over the captaincy spot; however, DC have put faith in the all-rounder from Gujarat, who has been with the franchise since 2019.
