New Delhi: India is all set to kick off their ICC Champions Trophy 2025 campaign on February 20. With a recent victory at the T20 World Cup 2024, the nation is looking to maintain their winning streak and clinch yet another title within a span of less than a year.

On January 18, fans can expect a press conference with Rohit Sharma and Ajit Agarkar, where the team for the tournament will be announced. This is eagerly awaited as it will give an idea of the team composition and strategies before the competition.

In recent updates, Sanju Samson seems uncertain to become a wicketkeeper for the team. In fact, his non-participation in the Vijay Hazare Trophy is reportedly due to a decision to stay in Dubai and not attend the practice session of his state team. This move has apparently caused him to miss out on some chances of being selected. Yet, he was considered for the T20I series against England.

Jasprit Bumrah is facing issues with his fitness as he complained of back spasms during Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024. Although he may be a part of the Champions Trophy team, the selection committee wants to see him play in at least one competitive match before finally deciding if he should join the team.

Karun Nair is having a fantastic season in the Vijay Hazare Trophy 2025, scoring five centuries and racking up 752 runs, which is a record for the most runs by a captain in a single season. However, despite his excellent performance, it has been reported that he might not be chosen for the Champions Trophy 2025.
