New Delhi: The highly anticipated day 2 of the IPL 2025 mega auction is just a few hours away. Players, fans, and franchises are eagerly waiting for the event to kick off in Jeddah on 24 and 25 November. Over 1500 players had initially registered for the auction, but only 574 made it to the final list after three new players were added. Among the shortlisted players, 367 are Indian while 210 are foreign players, including 4 players from associate countries. The auction will feature 320 Indian uncapped players and 12 uncapped foreign players. However, just before the auction, Arjun Tendulkar, son of cricketing legend Sachin Tendulkar, has unfortunately encountered a setback.

These Indian cricketers are the contenders for the highest bid:
This time the mega auction is going to be a big one because bids are going to be placed on some star Indian cricketers who are in great demand. There are full chances of the biggest bid being placed on Rishabh Pant, who was released from Delhi Capitals. Apart from him, star batsman Shreyas Iyer, who made KKR the champion under his captaincy last season, is also in the auction. Star Indian batsman KL Rahul’s name is also in the upcoming auction. Many other such international cricketers are in the auction.

What has Arjun Tendulkar done?
On one hand, the players in the auction are trying to keep themselves in the race to get a big amount by performing well. On the other hand, Arjun Tendulkar has shot himself in the foot by throwing a very expensive spell in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy a day before the auction. Arjun conceded 48 runs in his four overs in the match between Goa and Mumbai and he did not get a single success.

Will there be no buyer now?
With this performance, Arjun Tendulkar has given a big blow to his hopes of being sold in the auction. However, we cannot guarantee whether he will be bought or not in the auction, but obviously, IPL franchises will take a decision on adding players to their squad based on recent performance. In such a situation, it will be interesting to see which team will bid on Arjun Tendulkar and how big an amount he will be able to get in the mega auction.

This is the base price:
Arjun Tendulkar was released by Mumbai Indians ahead of the upcoming auction. His base price is Rs 30 lakh. Talking about his IPL experience, he started his career as a net bowler for MI and went to UAE for IPL 2020. MI rewarded him in the next season and bought him for a base price of Rs 20 lakh. Arjun has been with MI since 2021. He has played only five matches for them. He remained on the bench in IPL 2021 and 2022. He played four matches in IPL 2023 and one match in 2024. Arjun has taken 3 wickets in five matches.
